The Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation awards several scholarships each year to Baldwin High School seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education (including but not limited to bachelor and associates programs, and programs offered at trade, technical, or vocational institutions) and exhibit qualities of pride, discipline, respect, and commitment to the values inherent in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Award amounts range from $500-$2,000.

Awarded to a student pursuing a degree in biological sciences, horticulture, or environmental studies.
Awarded to a student pursuing a degree in education or teaching.
This scholarship supports students pursuing careers in rehabilitation services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related healthcare fields. Must demonstrate a love of the natural world, be of good character, and show kindness toward others.
Established in 2024, the Brady Family Merit Scholarship recognizes academic excellence at Baldwin High School and supports students in need of tuition assistance as they pursue a degree in higher education. Awarded annually in the value of $5,000 through the generosity of the Brady family. Applicants must carry a weighted minimum GPA of 4.0, be in good standing with BWSD, volunteer and/or participate in extra-curricular activities, and be in need of financial aid support.
Established in 2024, the Dorothy Hutchins Forman Visual Arts Scholarship is awarded annually to two graduating seniors at Baldwin High School who demonstrate outstanding efforts in fine arts. One award goes to a student who has demonstrated an ability to draw, paint, and/or sculpt while communicating the unconscious in a concrete format. The other goes to a student who intends to pursue a career as an artist or art teacher and has demonstrated an ability to work with children while displaying their artistic ability. Additional requirements include visual art submissions and a personal reflection essay.
Approximately 10% of each graduating class of Baldwin High School enters the workforce immediately or within the first year of graduation. To support this population, BWEF established the Entering the Workforce Award in 2024 and partnered with the Gary and Mary Eiben Foundation in 2026 to increase the award's value. Eligible applicants must have secured full-time employment or intend to pursue their own entrepreneurial interests upon graduation. Minimum 2.0 GPA, good standing with BWSD, and demonstrated ability to balance academic responsibilities and volunteering, employment, and/or extra-curricular activities.
This scholarship supports students pursuing careers in industrial arts, trades, or technical fields including welding, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automotive, and machining.
The Highlander STEM Scholarship presented by River Point Technology recognizes students' outstanding efforts in science, technology, and communication. Recipients demonstrate an ability to understand challenging STEM-related topics, can apply their skills to solve technological problems, and can communicate results to others articulately. Established in 2021 through the generosity of Mr. Jeffrey J. Eiben (BHS '88), founder of River Point Technology. Awarded to up to three seniors annually at $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000 respectively.
James Lewis was a biologist who specialized in lepidoptery (butterflies/moths) and bees. The Baldwin High alum (class of 1962) went on to receive two degrees from the University of Miami. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who intends to pursue a higher education degree in biology, botany, environmental sciences or a related science field. Must demonstrate a love of the natural world, be of good character, and show kindness toward others.
Keith "Juice" Smith discovered his gift of song at a young age. This memorial scholarship is presented annually to a graduating senior who has participated in a minimum of two musicals while attending Baldwin High School, or has participated as an active member of the Highlander Marching Band and/or choir for at least two years, and intends to pursue a 2- or 4-year degree in a performing arts major. Valued at up to $2,000.
The Officer Sean Sluganski Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 to honor the legacy of Officer Sean Sluganski (BHS '09) of the McKeesport Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on February 6, 2023. The annual scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating seniors of Baldwin High School who are pursuing a career in law enforcement or crime prevention. Co-sponsored by the Sluganski Family, Baldwin Borough Police Department, Baldwin Township, Whitehall Police Department, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91, McKeesport Police Department, BWSD, and BWEF. Award amount is up to $3,000.
